- Vivian came over for our annual review and it ended about 10pm. Lasted for 2 hours. Chat time more than review I guess.
- about 9.30pm realised Tong is running a fever, 38C. Fed her milk and med. Temp dropped to 36.5C at 1.30am before I turned in. At about 4.40am, it rosed to 39.7.
- Quickly fed her some milk then med again. Stick the cooling tab on her forehead and went to make the ice + water with 2 small towels.
- The towel applied on her forehead about 15 secs and turned warm quickly. Change the ice water every 30 mins. Another towel used to put on her feet, hands, neck, head.
- Her face turn so red! very very warm. Checked the temp every 15 mins. Fed her water every 3o mins... luckily the temp dropped to 37C at 7am.
- Set alarm at 7.30, 8.00, 8.30am, 9am to check on her temp. But at 9,30am temp shot to 38.4C. Decided to bring her to the clinic.
- wanted to make an appt but the clinic only walk in + its 1/2 day on Friday. So brought her to clinic after packing all the stuff and I thought to myself if the bus dont arrive within 10 mins, Im going to take a cab. Luckily 171 arrived in 5 mins.
- It was a long wait in the clinic. Im the fifth to go in. Waited for an hour. 2 weeks ago when I brought Tong for vaccination, I was allowed to go in first. Today, she is running a high temp but gotta wait all the way. I dont mind to wait if its vaccinnation but a baby is having a high fever!
- finally get to see doc after 62 mins of waiting time... She cried immed. upon seeing her doc, as he was wearing a mask. Scare her off I think. Checked her mouth, hands, feet, back, all normal. (luckily)
- However, doc gave me a referral letter as well. In case the temp is ongoing for the next 24 - 48hours, gotta rush to KKH immed, as babies are too weak to fight the now popular H1N1 and the Malaria that is now at bukit timah area.
- I asked for the pills that are to put into the anus and am glad he also decided to give me that on top of the pink med.
- Took a cab home and insert the pill immed. Had some milk and water and let her sleep in the swinging cradle.
- Luckily the temp dropped to 36.8C. continued to feed her with plenty of water. Am glad that at least she don reject water but drank it like she was drinking milk. Totally vice versa.
- 7.30pm fed some milk, appetite super poor... only drank about 60ml. fed her the pink med to prevent temp rise again.
- 10.30pm another feed, this time also 60ml. Changed her to fresh set of pyjamas and pat her to sleep as she is feeling uncomfortable, keep crying...
