Tonsillitis?

Chevonn is down with fever again since sat (5th June 10). TOday I brought her to Nam Seng clinic. Was given Nurofen, Paracetamol, Antibiotics and one medicine to bring down the heatiness inside her body. I reached at 8.30am, clinic registration starts at 9am and I got my queue 5th in line. Doctor only came in at 10am and I waited till 10.40am to see the doctor. She was diagnosed with Tonsillitis. Vomited twice after we reached home at 11.30am. Worried. Brought her back to clinic at 7pm. Given inserts for high fever and vomiting. rest are fluid medicine, only for anti-virus is tablet. . Source from eHealthMD What Is Tonsillitis? Tonsillitis is an infection of the tonsils. It is caused by either a virus or a bacterium (usually the bacterium known as streptococcus - the same bacterium that causes "strep throat"). Tonsillitis mostly occurs in young children. What Are Tonsils and Adenoids? The tonsils are a pair of small almond-shaped organs located of the mouth on both sides of the throat. The adenoids are similar to the tonsils but are located in the upper portion of the throat behind the nose, where they can't be seen. At one time many doctors believed that tonsils had no real purpose and often routinely removed them to avoid tonsillitis. Today, tonsils and adenoids are seen as perhaps the "first line of defense" against disease-causing germs that enter the body through the nose, mouth, or throat. Tonsils and adenoids protect against germs during early childhood by producing antibodies . By attacking bacteria and viruses, antibodies play an important role in the body's immune system. The problem is that in the process of protecting the body, the tonsils and adenoids can become infected themselves. As children grow and develop, the tonsils and adenoids eventually begin to shrink and are probably no longer important in protecting against disease-causing germs. Even in young children, removal of infected tonsils or adenoids does not seem to weaken the body's defenses. There are many other tissues in the body that are part of the immune system. These tissues, known as lymphoid tissues , also make antibodies to fight against infection.

Dearie Birthday 2010

This post is late by 1 week plus... busy baking... Dearie's Birthday on 28th March, we celebrated one day before.... so fast! This is another year again. Last year March I was still in maternity leave! I wana add borders to the pictures if the eggs but failed despite doing it for many times for 2 days... Red eggs... Stick Man! A simple celebration this year. We went to Clementi for dinner. This stall was aired in Channel 8 programme 煮抄来咯! Location is at Block 378, Clementi. The signature dishes are Cereal Oat Crayfish, Fried Yong Tau Hu and Hong Kong style steam fish. We ordered Cereal Oat Crayfish, medium size (Yeah, came for that so must eat more lah), Fried yong tau hu, yam ring and clayhot fish head. We were there at 6.15pm, to get a guarenteed seat. My Babies - Brandon Kerk and Chevonn Kerk

My Babies have become little boy and little girl. Brandon started N1 on 1st April 2010, last Thursday. Tomorrow is the second day of school. There are two teachers in the class, Teacher Moon and Teacher Cai Ning. There is also one child birthday so they were given a goodie bag each, with milk, biscuits and sweets packed in it. Wow, first day got goodie slready =D Now I understand why people says you have to really enjoy the time with own children when they are still little cos it passes so quickly. 30 months ago, Brandon was born and from a tiny baby who sleeps all day, waking only to drink milk, he has become a little boy, who is attending his N1 wearing school uniform now. He can understand us well, talk properly depending on his mood only, yes, he still baby talk, and enjoying it while commmunicating with his younger sister, Chevonn, aka Tong Tong. He follows routine well, time for bathing, time for porrige, time for nap, time for milk, time for bed. He is also very good in nature. As he would always get bullied by Tong Tong, he will never beat her or push her, like what Tong Tong will do to him. He will also not snatch her toy while she is playing, he will wait patiently for her to "throw" away the toy before he pick up and play. Whenever I see him achieve something on his own, I feel proud of his capability to do it. When I sent him to school that day, I was having mix feelings.I am afraid that his classmates will bully him, I am afraid that he will not be able to adapt. But all is well. =D Chevonn aka Tong Tong. For Tong Tong, she is growing rapidly in a stage that I thought it was too fast. She is impatient. She cant wait during feeding time, must "gobble" up her porrdige even it is still hot! Now, I will list down the milestones for both Brandon and Tong Tong, which I have not updated in quite a while already. Brandon likes and dislikes: Likes Fruits: Grapes, Banana, Dragon Fruit, Apple and pear. Food: Fish, chicken, egg Dessert: Ice cream Sweet: Ribena TV Show: Thomas the Tang Engine, My friends Tigger & Pooh, Word World, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Barney, Dibo the gift Dragon, Handy Manny. Activities: Swimming, Singing & dancing. He will run and "fall" on his knees thinking it would slide like those rock stars. That caused those blueblacks on this legs -.- Current Nursey songs: Twinkle Twinkle little star, 12345-once I caught a fish alive! Songs: English and hokkien songs Favourite animals: Dog and Pig, must have during sleep time. Gai gai - He will go to the storeroom and say "shoe shoe" when he know we are bringing him out.
